Mid January is when New Year’s resolutions either thrive or take a nosedive into oblivion. As for me, I ditched the whole January 1st resolution thing ages ago when I started learning Feng Shui.
Chinese New Year is another more intentional way to make the changes we just talk about.
Let’s be honest, the Chinese know how to celebrate way better than we do in the West.
While we’re popping champagne and making fleeting promises at midnight, they plan and set intentions with a serious game plan. Who wouldn’t want to start fresh with a lion dance and some excellent luck vibes?
Let’s face it, those January 1st resolutions often dissolve faster than that leftover champagne bubble. Gym memberships gather dust, the super-healthy meal plans morph into pizza deliveries, and the dream of shedding those extra pounds becomes a distant memory by Valentine’s Day chocolates.
So, here’s to being honest and embracing the slow-deflating balloon feeling without the guilt. Maybe it’s not about resolutions but more about making steady changes throughout the year, guided by the wisdom of Feng Shui and a healthy dose of honesty.
The Chinese take their New Year preparations to a whole new level, and one of the most potent traditions is the big clean. It’s not just a regular sweep and mop—it’s a full-on energy shift. They scrub their homes from top to bottom to clear out old, stagnant energy and allow fresh, vibrant vibes to flow in.
Think about it: all the clutter, dust, and forgotten corners we let pile up carry energy, and not always the good kind. A thorough clean is like hitting the reset button, creating a blank canvas for whatever abundance and joy the year has in store.
And honestly, doesn’t it feel amazing to walk into a sparkling clean and organized space? It’s like the house itself breathes a sigh of relief. Plus, for us Feng Shui enthusiasts, this is the perfect way to set the stage for attracting new opportunities, wealth, and happiness. The energy shifts you feel after cleaning are real—they’re tangible.
So, even if you’re not celebrating the Lunar New Year, taking a cue from this tradition and doing a deep clean is a fantastic way to reboot your home and mindset. Out with the old, in with the new!
Today is the day, so instead of sitting around all day thinking about how we failed to get that diet going, missed the gym again, get up and start cleaning and letting go.
You know you’ll feel much better when youve done the big clean.
